Grow 2024
I'm a long time gardener. I've grown garlic for years. When we were growing up we all had to help turn dirt over for a garden. When Hisham and I bought our first house, for my first Mother's Day, I got a chain saw and a rototiller. We had 20 acres - I'd need both. I tilled up about an acre, and that first year was wonderful. Then the deer found my garden and they had a wonderful summer. I installed fencing - 10 foot high - and yet one deer still managed to jump in. Memories of laughing hard while trying to chase him out still roll around in my mind. When the mosquitoes chased us off our land, we bought a house where we are now. From 20 acres, to 1. Yes, it was an adjustment, but this place had a pool!! So I planted fig trees - and every year they amaze me. I have an outdoor spinning Garden Tower - not sure how old it is, but probably a good 15 years or more? I compost down the middle - just dump my peels and veggie scraps and in the beginning of the season - worms. Lots and lots of worms. They'll make tons of high quality soil for me, plus worm tea for my plants - win/win.
Anyway - I'm starting my new experiment. I also have a Gardyn - an indoor hydroponic garden - where I usually just grow lettuce so I don't have to worry about bugs and such (since it's indoors) I've successfully also grown strawberries and beans and tomatoes and cukes - it's fun. This time I'm experimenting. I just replanted the entire thing with mostly lettuces and herbs - but I also popped a few MJ seeds - 8 to be exact. Well, 7 popped. I did 4 of each - LSD and Mango Kush. I put 2 of each of the popped seeds into my Gardyn to establish some strong roots until I can plant outside, and I planted 2 of each in soil. The soil ones are inside the Gardyn - photos will follow, but they'll get the same amount of light per day. The Gardyn waters 5 times a day, but there is no nutes in the water yet anyway - so not stressing about that. Once the seeds pop above the soil, and the seeds have true leaves in the Gardyn, I'll start adding nutes and tracking and seeing which way produces a better plant with more product.
