It is the space between the issue and the desired outcome where the real goodies are and where the real clearing happens.
For January - My focus is HOME RESET
That means - for me, lots of decluttering, lots of donating, lots of just getting rid of what is no longer adding to my life. I'm not gonna harp on "JOY" or any of that BS - no, I don't get joy when I pick up a pond deicer - but I know my fish need it in winter. I don't feel JOY when I pick up my own baby photo that hung in my Dad's house, for the second half of my childhood. I don't feel any attachment - so why keep it?
I have steps set up to help me with my home reset - staring off with Purging and Putting away Christmas - but since we haven't had Christmas yet - can't do that one. What I can do is set up a cleaning schedule and dedicated 1 hour a day towards cleaning out my old office and getting it ready for a new gym. Also on the list - getting ready to eBay some quilt kids and Zox bracelets that I'll never get around to using or wearing. While my own bedroom and bath still need a makeover - since we have guests right now - that'll have to wait.
So Day one of my home reset - taking a photo for accountability is embarrassing since it's become a dumping ground after my youngest graduated college. He has sooo much STUFF - at such a young age. Lots of the mess you see here is his - the pile on the floor is mine - I told the kids I was donated all the board games, beats, coloring books, gel pens - the good stuff. That way they can grab anything they want to keep - but they have to keep it in their own room. Trash days is Wednesday's - so all of that will be gone by next week. Recycling isn't until the 14th - so the cardboard might have to go on the front porch to clear it out.
